Belly Dance HOW TO secrets:
How to move like a snake
The
“snake” is an undulation (wafe), which is moving down when initiated by
making vertical figure eight by hips downward. Or the “snake” is moving up
when initiated by making vertical figure eight with
shoulders upward.
When we involve in this wave a whole
body, it looks like a snake movement. This movement very effectively
contributes in the elegant walk style thanks to stretching and strengtening
the side muscles. Normally these muscles are not stretched and not developed
enough, therefore when we start to learn the “snake” movement, we should be
carefull and not do it too many times.
During the course we will approach this movement
gradually, first stretching hips sideways, and then slightly pulling them
down. As any hip movement,
it will be adopted by the body within several trainings.
